Terms of Service

Using ConvertHEIC

These terms apply to your use of convertheic.org, operated by the ConvertHEIC site operator ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service. You must be legally able to agree to these terms or have permission from a parent or guardian where required.

The Service

ConvertHEIC provides free browser-based tools for converting, viewing, and editing images, along with related document and photo-video tools and informational guides. No account is required. Supported formats and available features vary by tool, browser, device, and file. We do not promise support for every file or device.

Your Files and Rights

You retain your rights in the files you select and the content they contain. Using our tools does not transfer ownership of your files to us. You must own the content or have permission or another lawful basis to process it, and you are responsible for how you use and share the results. Conversion does not give you rights in someone else's content.

Local Processing and Privacy

Selected files are processed on your device in the normal tool workflow, rather than sent to a conversion server. The website still loads site resources and uses analytics. See our Privacy Policy for details. Files you download, email, sync, or upload elsewhere are subject to the settings and policies of the services you choose. Please avoid including sensitive files in support messages.

Acceptable Use

• Use the service lawfully and respect copyright, privacy, and other people's rights.
• Do not attempt to compromise the website, distribute malicious code, or bypass security controls.
• Do not send abusive automated traffic or otherwise disrupt access for other users.
• Do not use the service to create or distribute unlawful content.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks, or legal requirements.

Check Results and Keep Originals

Keep a backup of your original files and inspect results before relying on or sharing them. Processing can change image quality, colors, transparency, metadata, animation, or other file properties. Automated edits, including background removal, may be imperfect. A converted file may not meet a particular application's or recipient's requirements. Guides are general information; third-party products and instructions may change.

Website Content and Third Parties

Website text, branding, and other materials belong to their respective rights holders. These terms do not grant permission to reuse them beyond what applicable law or a relevant license allows. Third-party software remains subject to its own licenses, listed in our software notices. Third-party links and product references do not imply endorsement or affiliation. For copyright concerns, see our Copyright Notice.

Availability and Responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose. We may update or discontinue features. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, such as lost profits or business opportunities.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. These terms do not affect mandatory consumer rights or remedies available under the laws that apply to you.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. Updates will be published on this page with a revised date and apply prospectively. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or seek your agreement. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
